This weekend I had the honor and privilege of being invited back to my school of nursing to give a keynote talk and be inducted into the school’s hall of fame, an experience that was both humbling and rewarding.
In 1970 I began my healthcare career as a new nursing student at a time when very few men entered the nursing profession. In attendance at the keynote talk was an instructor who was my mentor and source of support throughout my experience as a nursing student. I will never forget Faye Huffman and the solid foundation that she helped me develop many decades ago.
Thank you Allen College, the Alumni association and Faye Huffman for the great weekend in Iowa and a chance to return to my roots.
